I have an oil leak at the pto shaft. I replaced all the seals under the cover, but I seem to remember that I have seen this problem addressed before on this forum and that there is an internal "O" ring that can cause the leak. Anyone have any more information on how to approach this problem?

There are two breathers, one for the hydraulic and the other one for the transmission / final drive.   Have you checked and cleaned the filters that is on top of the transmission?  Most have not been serviced, thus as trans cools it draws in air past the seal, now as it heats and air expands with the breather plugged it pushes oil past the seal.   They have a paper filter with a spacer tube to space the cap from smashing the filter.   A lot of the spacer tubes have gotten lost when servicing and filter is smashed and cap is down against the housing!

It has brand new breather filters. It leaks just sitting still. I don't run it much because the tin is off and ready to go back on.

a coupling between front and rear pto shaft. oring in the coupling. coupling is between
the bull gears. there is a roll pin that holds the shafts togeather. need to lift the
hyd.sys. up to get acess. dont let the front shaft move foward or back when pulling them
apart.4 bolts to remove rear shaft. hope this helps.

Yes that helps a lot. I have seen mention of that o ring and this has shown me what I need to do. My parts book tells me that is a 1/8 X 1 7/16 ID. If this stops the leak it will make me a happy camper.
