Cockshutt 540 steering

Hi long time viewer and forumn reader Just now set up account and first post I have a cockshutt 540 my dad bought in the 70 Living in East Tennessee ppl look at you like your crazy when you look for parts for it I have been using tractor for years bushing and gardening But now I have a steering issue Felt like binding. Upon dissambly I found the bottom shaft that comes out of the box is loose box had been packed in grease the shaft and large driving gear with the eccentric bushing moves up and down are bearings and components still available for this And do I have to completely remove the front axle to disassemble the steering box Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated Thank y all for taking time to read my long post
