Oliver 70, painting question

The emblem on the grill of a 1939 70 row crop,...I know the "Oliver" letters are yellow and the background is red with green outer borders, but I see several different ways of painting the vertical ridges under the word Oliver, and on the curved trim leading up to the top of the hood. Some people paint the lower ridges green, and the upper curved ridges also green with red in the valleys. Others just paint the emblem red with yellow letters and green borders. Can you tell me which is correct? thanks.

Silence. That's because it usually starts a fight. OK,I'll give it a go. In my memory, they were all green with red stripes and red lettering.

There's usually a lot of silence when you ask for advice on this forum about paint colors and codes.
However, after you have a finished product, just take it to a tractor show and you'll have a dozen "experts" walk by and tell you that the paint color/pattern is wrong.

I've got a center strip on a Super 55 that'll get that reaction. I like it though,it was the designers who painted them wrong. lol

It can be tough figuring out what's right. I've been trying to figure out decals for my 500. Almost looks like they switched them by the month. Pictures in my parts book, operator manual, and an advertising brochure all have different decals and placement.

Hate to leave you hanging like that, but no matter how you paint it,one of two things will happen. Either everybody will say it's wrong,or nobody will. As you can see, nobody really wants to be the one to say for sure. You might get the same reaction if you asked if the wheels were red or green on a 39.
