Energy cell cap removal

Anyone have a trick without pulling the injector and not damaging it.
I'm trying to start my super 88. I checked the plunger last night. Now I need to check timing but I can't hear anything air passing the energy cell and I would rather not pull the hood and valve cover. I have it soaking and have been gently tapping on it.

We build and sell an E-Cell removal tool for the MM tractors. I know our tool will not fit the Olivers or Case for that matter. If there was enough demand we would build some of each. The use of that tool is really the only safe and secure way to remove those, saves a lot of headaches, sorry, this doesn't help you at this time, just passing along info. Dale, River Dale Farms.

Thank you. There is one out in the grass somewhere from a different tractor cuz I forgot to put the cap on and turn it over. Someone will probably find it some day and wonder what the heck it is.
I decided to put it back together and put a hot battery in it. It sputtered and smoked and after a little cranking it started It wasn't cranking fast enough or primed itself overnight

Please clarify, is it the threaded portion with hex on the outside of the head , the cap
beyond that which has the tab on it, or the energy cell body ?

Let me see if I have this correct. The tractor runs so all you need to do is clean the timing mark on the flywheel and line up the pump timing marks (2) and adjust it. No need to remove nozzle or energy cell.

My book says it's the cap. It's the part of the the body with the tab sticking out.

spray it down with some lubricate, you can gently tap on it with a small brass drift rod or
a steel punch to loosen, dig or scrap around the perimeter of it as it is likely just stuck
from carbon build up, that tab is for the removal careful not to break it off, I have seen
them be mighty stubborn to remove.

J...it had been sitting for over a year so I took the timing bolts out and turned the pump by hand to make sure the plunger was free. It wouldn't start afterwards so I wanted to make sure I got the timing right.
