I put a rebuilt injection pump on my 1755, and I've got it all timed. but the drive gear lack about 3/8" of going in all the way
What might I be missing?
Thanks
Pete

Take the two bolts out of the GEAR, then using a socket on the shaft nut rotate the shaft slightly back and forth while pushing back until shaft goes into place. Then set the pump timing, and install the gear using any two threaded holes as needed to bolt the gear in place again.

I agree with Dieseltech. You might ought to make sure that the dot on the end of the drive shaft tang lines up with the dot in the rotor.

DON'T pull the shaft out the front, or you won't get the rear seal back in the pump right, UNLESS you remove the hub from the shaft so you can see what you are doing..

Pete here are some pics if you can see them. They are from and I&T manual. I had a rough time when I reinstalled the pump on the 2-70. Finally got it right after awhile. On the 1650 I thought I got it on the first try and headed out to rake hay. Next thing you know I smell diesel and pulled the dip stick and she was full. Got it right on the second try. On the 2-70 we had the engine totally apart so I knew it was going to be fun.
