Oliver 66 Diesel Injection Pump help

Hello,

Over the last couple months the governor in my injection pump seems slow to react...mostly at lower rpms. Is there something I can do to improve that? Do I need to run an additive with the new diesel?

Any help would be appreciated.

American Bosch external spring pumps never had good low speed response when new, and only get worse over time as the parts wear. Internal spring governor has much better response at any speed, but it was more expensive. There's a chance the fuel control unit under the side cover is getting sticky, if so a fuel lube additive might help. The control unit MUST move freely for any governor to work correctly.
