am goin to do perkins 354. what to use for clutch alignment tool ? does anyone know of large ag clutch alignment tool set with model, number & price. thanks

The clutch and pilot are the same diameter. I use a long impact socket. Couldn't tell you what size right off the top of my head.

In my approx 50 years of replacing clutches (the first was when I was about 20 and the next is due any time now!) I have never bought an alignment tool. Never bent a clutch centre plate either. The first clutch I replaced was for my brother after he bent the centre plate in his ford anglia. He has never bent another since then.

I have never replaced enough clutches to warrant buying the special tools. It is not difficult to make something to do the job or use an existing tool of some sort. In the early days an old spigot shaft was the usual answer to the problem (scrap car gearboxes were easily available) but a bit of lateral thinking usually suffices and solves the problem.

A bar with a roll of insulation tape has sufficed before now.

Good answer 90. I usually cobbled up a combo of 3/8 and 1/2 drive sockets on a 3/8 drive extension to make something that fit really close. gm
