I recently bought this plow and I wondered if anybody knew what model it is. It is a 5 bottom 14in. on land. I dont think I have ever seen one like it.

Nice looking 566 with very rare on land hitch. I have one like it but a six bottom that I want to restore. Yours is in a lot better shape then mine. Nice plow and pictures.

I didn?t know that it is rare. There is a lot of things I have never seen. I have tried to buy it for a few years, but the guy wouldn?t sell. Just because it?s odd like me. The bank ended up with it and they were willing to sell it. It belonged to a young guy who thought there was money in farming with 15 dollar beans and 7dollar corn. He got in over his head. The bad part was that his widowed mother let him mortgage her farm. Now she is living in government subsidized housing.

Kinda crazy how things change. When they came out nobody wanted them unless you had a MFWD tractor. No body seemed to want them either. In my area when Deere finally came out with the 50 series with MFWD everybody went to the 4850 MFWD with an on land hitch Plow. Again Oliver was 15 years ahead Deere.

When I was young, I remember the first on land plows seemed to pop up the same time as the 2255 came out. They were always dualed up which lead to the use of on lands.
