Plow Day Pics

Just some pictures from the plow day I went to last Saturday. Took the 1950T but dont actually have a plow for it yet so I borrowed a 5 bottom 565 from a buddy of mine. Another buddy took his 1655 Diesel and a 4 bottom 4340 pull type. The group shot is from his farm where all my friends that went congregated to drive the tractors in to the plow day which was about 2 miles down the road. Full lineup is JD 1010, 3010, 620, 730, Allis M crawler, Farmall M, Oliver 1950T and 1655. It was a good day, a little on the wet side but actually plowed beautifully. There was 20 or so tractors there and it only took us an hour and a half to plow 50 acres so we were hauling the mail. LOL I let my buddy I borrowed the plow from take the ol T for a few rounds and now he wants one to. LOL Hes the one running it in the pic of it plowing. I tell you what, that tractor is a tank. It the heavy clay I would pull that plow in all three speeds in 3rd, and in the lighter ground it would pull it in all three speeds in 4th. You start pulling a 5 bottom in 4th over and the roost coming off of those moldboards is crazy.

The antique pulling club I belong to has a plow day every spring. The guys have every type of plow ever made. What a mess of the field we make as most of the plows and which is common use here in southern Idaho are two way roll over plows, but some of the guys bring one way plows dropping into the same furrow at different depths. What a rough plow job we leave the field in but we all have a great time doing it.
