what are the pros and cons of the 1655 vs 1755 diesel, I don't farm just piddle, parts avail, power, transmission and reliability of engine?

1755 will generally weigh about 2000lbs more than the 1655, which can be good and can be bad.
1755 will have "Closed-Center" hydraulics, which are way better than the 1655.
Both are naturally aspirated, so engines are both very reliable.
1655 is loved by many as a great sized tractor for many applications. Good power, speed, maneuverability, and with some external spool valves hooked to the power-beyond, are a great loader tractor.

It really depends on what you want to do with it.

I have both but lean on the 1755 more. To add to the listed above the 1755 has

Hydraulic brakes

Hydraulic actuated PTO, will actually stop spinning to hook up equipment.

I think you would do alright with either. I've never used a 1655, but I've heard they are a great tractor. I have a 1755 that I use for haying, and I love it. Enough power, brakes and weight to stay out of trouble on the hills, and a very nice handling tractor.
I've never had trouble getting parts, either from the local AGCO dealer, or on line.

Yes, that is important to mention...
1655 has a dry, mechanical PTO clutch and, because of that, an odd top link for the 3pt.
1755 has a wet, hydraulically operated PTO clutch, and a regular 3PT top link bracket.
Yes, the brakes are much better on the 1755 and it uses a parking brake rather than brake pedal lock. It's arguable which holds better.
