880 fenders - overall width

Going to go from 14.9 (stock rims) to 16.9 tires (16" rims) and need to keep width as narrow as possible so it'll fit on my 83" trailer. Has anyone ever put 880 fenders on the inside of the fender brackets? What about taking the fenders off? I know I just need to mount the tires and see where I end up but if I can save myself some headache and learn from others, I'd rather do that! Thanks in advance for any responses!

You will need to remove the fenders and put the dish for the steel wheels facing in. Unless you make custom fender mounts that clamp to the axle housing or long bolts to screw into the factory holes, you won't be able to have fenders. I don't have fenders on my S-77 with 16.9-34's so it will fit on my fender gooseneck trailer.

Thank you Ollie88D... if I make up some 16" wide rims and put the 9 bolt mounting plate about in the middle (8" of offset), do you think that will work (assuming I take the fenders off)

I have some double bevel duals that was going to put the spokes right inbetween those bevels. Like the pic I have tried to include.

My fenders are mounted on the inside with some spacers on my s88.I have 16.9s on it but not sure of rim width. Can do some measuring and get more pics if you like.
