I also went for a ride yesterday to pickup some stuff. I didn't want to hijack OliverNate's post.

Went to central PA to get the grain drill which is in really nice shape. Then on the way home stopped to pickup a 1750 parts tractor. I found it on CL last week it was on our way home. Motor was sold out of it I guess it had a window in the block. It had a cab also sold, the guy said it was stored inside most of the time, and the sheet metal looks like that's true. I was just going to buy the sheetmetal, the dual hubs and the 3spd. The guy said for the price of all that I could have everything that was left. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet!

Its to cold and miserable out to unload it today, I have to wash the salt and road grime off the truck. The weather was not so nice when we left in the am, about 2" of wet sloppy snow. The plows and salter's were out making a mess of the roads.

I didn't realize the pictures did not load. Sorry

That is kind of what I was thinking. Most of the parts are there to put it back together if I found a engine.

Looks like you had a nice load as well.

How well did it work to lay the drill on the back? I hauled home a couple P38 drills (tall wheels) home and on those the hitch is so tied into the rest there is no taking off. So left them stick out on passenger side, not like it was much but if someone wanted to hassle me about it they could have.

It worked out better than I figured it was going to. I was a little nervous to do it that way. I didn't want to take the chance being over width, because I was going out of state and 5hours from home. If it was closer I would have taken a chance maybe. Anyway the guy I bought the drill from said he hauled it like that and other ones the same way. I put down a few pieces of 2x4 under the grain box and he set it down real easy. We just took off the very end piece of the tounge. I was a little over 12ft which would not have mattered a whole lot, but I had to go under a 11'8" bridge in a small town so just wanted to be safe.

I wish we could have loaded the tractor the other way with the rear end over the trailer duals. Unfortunately that was the only way possible it could be done with the equipment we had to use. I had a little to much weight in front of the axles, that trailer is pretty long and it tends to bounce the whole rig at certain speeds if not loaded correctly.
