My friend has an Oliver 1250 Fiat diesel. It's been sitting as long as I've known him. He hauled it home when his dad passed and they sold the farm. He said he never really needed it so he never fixed the starter. It's been sitting at least 10 years. I have a Massey 135 gasser, so I don't really "need" it, but I hate to see stuff fade into the ground. He said it was functioning well when he parked it. Is the Fiat reliable? Are parts available? Ball park on what I should offer for a non runner. Thanks, Joe.

Just went through some old post and other stuff I found in a search. This might be one of those best left sitting as a lawn ornament. It looks complete, but I'm not looking for a money pit, just to bring firewood up from my splitting area to the front porch.

If it's the 3 cylinder diesel,it's a fair tractor. If it was offered to me and only needed a starter,I'd go $500 on it without hesitation. Much more than that, they'd have to fix the starter so I could hear it run.

If its a 1250 it'll have a 24V starter which will probably equal big $$$$ to fix,but you can pull start it and see how it runs I wouldn't put much in it.I have a couple those for
parts BTW.

In that case its close to me,if you decide against getting it and it looks like its going to scrap I'd like a chance at buying it as I'd hate to see it junked.I'll pay more than scrap price for sure.

The diesel is a decent tractor. Send me an e-mail and include yor phone number. Where areyou in Maryland? Our one son lives there. Thanks. J.

I'm in Frederick. I might see Don tomorrow, if I do I'll get what info I can. If I decide to pass on it I'll email the first person that responded and go down the line. Thanks for the input, Joe.

If someone that can use it wants it then let them have it as far as I'm concerned if not I'd get it to keep it from being scrapped.I'm a little over 100 miles
South of Frederick.

They have a Sikesville address. We go with them once in a while to Fredrick. Send me an e-mail and include your phone number. I have a couple of pointers for you before you try to start it. J.

Dang i am finding out a lot of my neighbors are on this sight. I am about 10 miles south of Loveville Md. I would like to look at that 1250 oliver myself.

Sorry it took a couple days to get back, we had 2 funerals, been a sad week. I'm going to pass on the tractor. Don said to give his cell number and you can call him. You can call Don Penn Small Engines at 240-409-5433. Tell him Joe sent you.
