Larry you NEED it!

Your right, I need it, looks cool, way over priced and way to far away. It's a very hard tractor to find with the FWA. I still hope my next tractor is a 2255 MFWD. I am taking my 990 to Mecum auction to generate some revenue so I can maybe get a 2255. I often wondered how these old Oliver MFWD tractors turned and steered with the front duals? Thanks as it is definitely a cool looking tractor. If I was wealthy I'd be all over it if the price was a bit less than he wants.
 
I thought that 990 I saw in the sale bill was yours. If anybody with an ounce of brains and an eye for meticulous restoration starts bidding on it ide say you have a 22 bought and a good chunk of change left to get going on the resto. I always wondered about the front duals myself. My biggest fear would be how well the steering knuckles and planetaries would hold up with that much rubber dragging on a turn. Those Clarks are stout axles but dang. Although I don't know how much worse off duals are compared to the terra tires they offered. I'm right there with ya though, if I had the funds to cover all my wants your 990 and this old girl would be sitting in my barn right now and that wouldn't even be a good start on the list. Lol
 
The reason I was wondering about the duals is that the man I help farm had a 8420 without the ILS that we put duals on. If that tractor wasn't moving you couldn't hardly turn it. If it was on concrete you didn't turn it unless it was moving. Have a 345R with ILS with duals on front and if your not moving sometimes you can hardly turn it. I was surprised on my 2150 MFWD that it turns pretty good., no duals. I believe the engineering on the steering on the Clark front axles that Oliver used on there MFWD tractors was pretty slick with one cylinder pushing one way and the opposite pushing the other way, making the steering use both cylinders. Anyway I think that is how it works.
