I changed the pan and rocker cover on an engine I bought. One of the rocker studs came out. I put it back in with a lock washer but when I had it all buttoned up I found a copper washer. Is it supposed to go on the rocker hold down?

Also under the pan there is a M62 stamped. Anyone know what that means?

Yep. A friend looked it up and found that's where it went. I only found 1. I have always used flat washers but when I put it on there wasn't enough room so all it got is nuts.
Still curious about the M62 stamp.

I'd think the copper washer would be on the valve cover outside. That's where MH Continental engines use copper washers.

I second the "outside of valve cover" copper flat washers. gm
