60 rowcrop attachment

Just picked up a 60 narrow front and noted bars that run along the frame, attaching from the pipe cultivator hole to hole and ending just below grille. I was told that it was part of what we call a sweep and was used to push cut hay up to the base of a stacker. Never saw one and the irons appear to be factory. Made from angle iron and C-channel. Anyone have any additional info? Tractor has the mechanical lift with a hook hanging from the lift arms on either side.

I'm wondering if it's one of those kits they made to put the Super and three digit implements with the flat mounts on the older tractors that only had the pipe mounts?

It looks like if the back was removed it would pivot down lifting the front off the ground? I don't know why you would want to do that though. Interesting.

I too thought maybe they did not look factory but upon closer inspection all of the holes are punched and I failed in my pictures to show the ends which are stamped. Not a high tech build but definetly not the work of the local welding shop. The attachment to the tractor uses the front cross tube that has a bolt per side to hold the tubes together. The tractor rear tube hole is used but the plate on the end simply locks in to the hole making it very easy to remove.
Wendels Book shows a semi mounted buzz saw that wouldn t be mobile without removing the rig. Possible someone or company figured out a movable saw and these are part of it. Listers/planters/front mounted cultivator/or even the hay sweep might have merit but why not just use the pipe/tool bar thru the tractor? I am going to see if the seller can get me in touch with the original seller. Love a good mystery.

Somebody could have taken a pair of the original cultivator pipes and cut them down to make it. If it is factory,I'd have to guess that it's something aftermarket.
