I recently purchased an oliver 70. The engine serial# is 228186 which should be a row crop. The frame of this tractor is a standard with smooth sides,(no industrial mounts). It has industrial fenders, a foot throttle, hand brake along with foot brakes, front drawbar, belt pulley, and pto. The motor serial indicates a 1939 row crop, but the axle carrier has part # F700 stamped in it which is a 1938 according to the parts book. On one side panel has the 70 row crop decal barely legible on in. Under the green paint is a red color which could be paint or may be a primer. I am looking for someone with knowledge about what I have, so I can decide how to restore this tractor. I saw one post that says oliver built a row crop 70 industrial. Just trying to figure it out.
