Oliver 88 diesel

I recently picked up a 88 diesel and was told it was a super 88. How would I know for sure? Also I need a lift pump. Previous owner put an electric pump on it. I would prefer the stock pump. Any suggestions the best place to buy one?

Can you post a pic of the 88? Korves Oliver has pumps and alot of parts. Just bought a lift pump from them for a 1600 dsl. Someone did the same thing on that tractor used a cheap 12bolt pump instead of lift pump.

I meant 12volt pump sorry. Super front frames have mounting pads with 4 threaded bolt holes around the 4" holes thru the frame. That's a quick way to try and detrime a super or not. But there are more differences.

Can you tell me where the serial number is located?
If it's a late 88 or super it will be on the left side of the dash in front of hydraulic unit. If it's an early one it's on the right side in front of the brake.

Rear axle on 88 is 2-3/4? diameter; super 88 is 2-7/8?.

I think S88 used pressurized cooling system; 88,did not.

The 88 used a fan driven directly from the crankshaft pulley via a wide belt, while the generator was driven via a narrow belt and pulley on the fan shaft. On Supers, the belt drove both fan and generator.

Isn't anybody going to mention the difference in the frame? The Supers had flat pads on each side with threaded holes in addition to the large cultivator pipe holes, the Fleetlines just had the two big holes for the cultivator pipes. All the Supers had disc brakes, the early Fleetlines had band brakes.

I thought about mentioning the mounting pads but since we don't know if it's a row crop or standard I decided to ask for the serial number tag first.
Sorry, I was backwards on the belt configuration. Thank you for correcting me.
I also saw one with a fixed front axle and row crop rear end. The axle was further forward than a standard. Wish I would've saved a pic now. If I find it again I will post it.

Thanks for the help. It looks like a super 88. Serial number is 26164-80 maybe a 1 behind it. 2.75 axles. Single belt for fan and generator. Has tapped holes in frame. Thanks again, Carl.

(quoted from post at 15:11:57 02/18/18) Sorry about the duplicate pictures. New phone.
You can go to Oliver heritage or tractor data if you want to see what year it is.
How does it run?

Runs great. My cousin owned it years ago
and majored the engine. It's been passed
around a few guys. Now it's our turn. My
wife is going to pull it some at local
pulls.

Last number of serial number would be 801 or 804. 804 would be a tractor with a slow speed rear end. It would be a 1955 model.
