Oliver 99 / 443 gas engine

We have recently picked up an Oliver 99 that has the 443 gas engine, with the M&W 5” overbore kit in it. The engine was stuck, we have disassembled it and are now looking for some parts. The first question is: where can gaskets be found? Primarily a headgasket. I’m sure that other gaskets can be cut out from gasket material if needed, or RTV silicone may be our friend. I believe that our pistons can be reinstalled with new rings, however two of the sleeves are questionable. Does anyone know where there might be a couple of sleeves, either in the 4.75” bore, or the 5” bore? This tractor also has a live hydraulic kit that drives off of the back of the distributor. We do not wish to reinstall the live hydraulics, what pieces will we need to put it back together without the live hydraulics?

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!!!

I worked on a that same motor for a guy. I will second Olsen gaskets and they are probably your only source. When I first got the gaskets the sleeve
orings were too small. I did some measuring for them and they sent a round ring that seals so far. You might want to check that pretty quick to make
sure they went ahead and corrected that.

This motor also had the 5 inch pistons in it but after the sleeves were cleaned up I believe 2 of the sleeves were rusted through. Also the top ring was
narrow in a wide ring groove.

I would be curious what width your top ring is and whether it fits properly.

He (guy that owns the one I worked on) found a used set of 4.75 sleeves and pistons up north and I would have to ask where that was. I will try to if I can
remember.

I’ve not posted a picture here before, let’s see how this goes.

The distributor drive and hydraulic pump assembly attaches to the back of the governor housing.

Years ago by luck found an new old stock keck gonnerman head gasket which fit. As I recall the engine is basically a wakashaw.

If anyone is interested he found sleeves and pistons at,

Biewers tractors in Minnesota.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pic. Everytime I hear of one of these having hyd. I always ask for up close pictures and details. I've been thinking about
putting hyd. on my 99 but I don't want it to look cobbled or tie up the pto.

As it looks I'm willing to bet you could just take the hyd. pump off and build yourself a flat plate and gasket to close up the back side.

No problem. We’ve not separated the pump yet, I’m anticipating that we might need a bearing holder at minimum. If you’d like more in-depth pictures, let me know.

What have you for piston dimensions such as compression height and pin size to start with? My e-mail should be open. J.

Pistons are 5”, 4 ring, 1.4995” wrist pin, 2.812 compression height. Total height of the piston is 5.6875”.

Sleeves are our bigger concern. Three of the four are pretty rough, not sure that they will hone out. If we could find some 4.75” sleeves, we could bore them to fit our 5” pistons.
