Oliver 1800a and snowblower

Do you think an 1800a has enough horse power to run a 7 foot snow blower? I just bought this 1800, and I don't have much experience using it yet to know it's power capabilities.

One thing I do know is that after using John Deere's all my life, I wish I had got an Oliver much earlier. I love this tractor! I think this will end up being my tractor of choice and my new addiction. It is just so easy to work on and so comfortable to drive. No more JDs for me!

I am curious, what is the next model with a higher HP then a 1800a but in that same time frame that the 1800 was made?

It should have power enough yes. Next step up in that time frame would be a 1900 with the GM diesel engine, but I'd go to an 1850 with the 354 Perkins diesel. Basically the same tractor, just a model newer with a better engine and more power.

All depends on how deep the snow is, and how fast you want to go. I have a seven foot front mount, in deep snow it will make a 130 plus HP pull down a bit on 1000 PTO speed at 1.7 MPH first gear.

Dad runs a 7 foot two stage New Idea on our 1800 C and it plays with it. Tractor is turned up to 95 horse but it is overkill on the blower. Part of his driveway drifts really bad and it can get 4-5 foot deep if the wind blows right. Even busting that drift it will throw snow 20 feet or better.
