what engines am be out in 2-150 frames without a lot of expense or time --I have a 354 here now and access to cummins 5.9and 8.3

That had the MM engine didn't it? A 800 power unit motor would give you some more HP

Without expense AND (not OR) time only another D585. What is wrong with yours? If it is just more power mine was set to 175 (about 20% over) on the dyno, and was still running last I knew (with over 2000 hours on the rebuild doing nothing but heavy tillage when I sold it 2011). I think it lived at that setting with only 4 mains as we had it balanced during the rebuild. Also they have a reputation about being thirsty, but the most I ever burned moldboard plowing was 6 GPH.

threw a rod I thought maybe something else would work

Had yours been updated (really BACK dated as the D585 in the G1350 had external pump) to the external oil pump, or did it have the inside the pan pump? A rod failure is what had happened to mine before I got it blown up, although it didn't come through the block. Contact Welters in Verona MO. as they salvage a lot of MM / White.
