This was the reason I wanted to contact Chris a week ago. It was on an auction today not far from his place. I wondered if he wanted it or knew anybody who did. I didn't want to post it on an open forum and mess up a deal. I had contacted the son of the guy who's estate it was and made sure I could get it loaded if I bought it and wasn't on site today. It was a live on site auction with no internet bidding, but I had called the auctioneer. He said he could call me when they got to it and I could do a phone bid or I could just tell him how high I wanted to go. I did the latter. I just got an email from Chris. He said it brought $3700 according to a post an facebook. I was a little short on it. My big fear was just that it'd go to the crusher given how much junk was on that sale, but at that price,I'm confident it went to a good home and will be done right.

Looks fairly complete, interesting live hyd pump on the front. Looks like it will cost the same as an already restored one to get it restored. But, like you said, glad it didn't go for long iron.

The family had the sale less than 30 days after he died.

I have known about that tractor for 25+ years. That tractor never had factory hydraulic or PTO. At one time it had a ditching machine on the back and the front hydraulic pump run it.

The man also had a DeLoren automobile. I wonder what it brought.

I didn't see it on the sale bill. There was a 66 Chevy with very few miles on it. One other low mile car and a whole bunch of pickups and larger trucks. A good amount of road building and paving equipment.

Brought 3750 I think or 3800. I bailed at 2800. Wife and son was standing back watching. She was beating him on the shoulder, make him stop make him stop. I laughed good when he told me that. I figgerd to stop a 2 but got caught up in it. Sheet metal wasn't to bad but every thing that could be stuck or set up was. Had part of some attachment left on the back and it was painted yellow over the green. Some lettering on the side like it came from a county garage or something. No PTO or 3 pt. We left after that but up until then most everything was going to the scrap. A red K, blue circle or purple X. When you posted last week I wanted the say don't let the cat out off the bag, but that would have let the cat out.

If you've got a good running 440,I wouldn't say $10,000 was out of the question. There were fewer 440s than Super 44s.

Thanks. I'll get some pictures sent in when I get the orchard done. It's coming along. I hope to have it painted in time for our local show in late July.
