Somebody posted a link up on Tractor Talk last night to several ads by the same person. I was scrolling through them and there was a 1555 Loader Special among them for $2800. It's in Minnesota.

They were a stripped down model made to sell real cheap. Most were made for one dealer, but there were a few sold by other dealers that sourced tractors through the same branch house I believe. One of them was on Machinery Pete's list of the top 10 highest price tractors he's ever seen sell. Look at the picture and you'll see there's no rockshaft for the 3pt and not even any seat suspension.

Like my Oliver 500 orchard,if that thing was closer to home,I'd have kept my mouth shut until it was sitting in my toolshed. That's just too far for me to go,but it really needs to be in somebody's collection.

Picture from the rear looks like it is equipped with the dual speed PTO (four bolt outer cover).

So spend the night there. lol

I drove a six and a half hour round trip to get the 500. Didn't Machinery Pete say that one of those 1555s brought $40,000 or some such wild number?

Silly question. If they were sold as a Loader Special, how was one supposed to operate a loader with no hydraulics?

Front pump or a PTO pump if you didn't intend to use the PTO. I think they put a Farmhand F11 with a PTO pump on a fair number of them.

6 Hours one way isn't a bad trip,I drove almost 300 miles one way to pick up my Oliver 1450 4WD.I like to start early so I get where I'm going about 8 AM get loaded and head home.I find stopping and taking a break about every 100 miles makes the trip go better.

Heck, six hours one way must not be too bad! A guy from north of St. Cloud is coming down to get my bale grinder I am selling. He came down and looked at it said he is going to buy it and is coming back with his trailer. 6 hours one way for him.

I kind of remember hearing about the one that machinery pete was talking about. I have seen a few advertised pretty cheap though, I think his was a fluke. There have been several on tractorhouse through the years, and for no more than a normal 1555.
