Oliver on Fender

Started with the 1957 Super models. For the row crop models, 62 would have been the end of it. All the 550 had them I think except for the Cockshutt ones.

I don't want to do one of the big ones, but I want to take one of the small frame ones, put a narrow front under it,clamshell fenders,13.6 38 rears and 6.00 16s on the front. I just want to make one look as meek as I can.

That would look good! I like em both ways. Just bought a 3-53 I might put in one of my engine less tractors. Also have a 232 I need to put in a 77. I have some time off finally, now I just need some motivation.

Ya,I went to a sale yesterday that had a lot of Oliver project tractors. All I could think of was the ones I already have here that need to be finished up though. But if I find a 1550,1600 or 1650 cheap,my priorities are going to change.

Priority's can change easy. Not a lot of Oliver's around here to pic from. Hard see any 3 or 4 digits. I brought this one home a few years ago. Engine needs a lot of work so it's still sitting. It was fun getting it off the flat bed.

There was an 88 diesel WF on that sale. They said it had a knock in the top end. Most likely a wrist pin from my experience. There were 2 Super 55s,one gas and one diesel. They started both of them. Both had remote valves, the diesel had a swinging drawbar. They were both beat right in to the ground. Best one of the day,and I might have thought pretty hard about bringing that one home if the lights had worked on my trailer when I hooked on,was a 57 Improved Super 77 gas. Nearly new rubber, been sitting outside for a long time, intake and exhaust manifolds were both cracked, but they said it ran if you held your hand over the carburetor. That one would have been a fairly easy restoration.

(quoted from post at 10:34:24 10/22/17) When I find the right project tractor, there's gonna be a 1550,1600 or 1650 with them on it.
Cute 1650 in classifieds. Needs a little work. Wish it was closer to me.
