My 1850 manual says to use SAE 10W or ATF type A in the hydraulics and the over/under. My other tractors just use hyd oil 32 or 55 weight just fine. Will this work also on the 1850?

I don't know if you think you will have JD, IH, or CASEIH tractors down the road but I would give thought to using either JD's or CASEIH hydraulic-transmission fluid in the 1850 hydraulic system as those tractors are negatively sensitive to any other oils. This way implements could be shared w/o affecting tractors.

I knew the guy at the case ih store and he would bring to me. Made it so easy I just changed everything hydraulic to it. No problems. Kubota's,
Oliver's, Caterpillars and of course the case combine and such get it. ATF in the over/ under.

Doug, I used universal hydraulic oil in my 1800. Never had a problem. As the 2 speed hydraulic shift slipped
a little in low side I changed it to type F transmission fluid. It has a different additive in it that causes
the clutches to grab better. Stopped the slipping.
