1855 3pt adjustment

Today I hooked the 5 bottom plow(first time using the three point in 10 years) to 1855 and tried to do a pass, but the three point won't go down all the way. The moldboards barley scrape the ground and picked up all the way there's about 8 inches from ground to the bottom of the Moldboard. So what I'm asking is is there a adjustment for three point travel? Cause when I push the lever down the arms go down but stop about 2 feet from the ground. My 2-135's arms when all the way down almost drag on the ground. And when i pull back the lever they only come up a foot or so. Also so I'll add that the lever only does anything on the bottom three inches of the lever console. I confused anything in the shop manual So I wanted to consult you guys on here before I do anything.

When you raise the 3 point all the way up do you have any free travel in the linkage? The adjustment is covered in the operators manual. How far down did you move the 3 point lever? Adjustment is changed by adjusting the turnbuckle. Do you have a Cat-3 three point?

When its up all the way I do have free travel. The lever only works on the bottom half of the console from the half way point up it doesn't do anything. It's a cat 2. I don't have a Owners manual for some reason, just a shop manual.

I forgot I had a picture. This is with the 3 point up all the way and the adjustments on the arms unscrewed.

Not sure yet. I would think it's set very sensitive because I can sit on the arm and it will raise the three point. The guy we bought it from had used it as a log skidder and ripped the 3 point off and fabr-cobbled the linkage back on so I have to figure it out.

I don't know how it is on those, but my 2-105 and 2-135 have a knob down by the left side of the seat that you pull up or push down. I know it makes a difference what position that's in.

First off is the anchor point on the tractor side of the three point arms hooked in the middle hole. Second is the feedback linkage on the left side of the tractor hooked to one of the center holes. Do not remove that pin with the tractor running or the arms will jump right up to the full raised position . Third there is a small coiled spring on the feedback linkage on that side is it broken. Fourth where that spring goes on the lever make sure that shaft will turn inside the other one they sometimes get seized together then things will not work right. You have a category two hitch . I believe you can still allow the oil to drain out of the internal cylinder by removing a plug that screws into the back of the hyd. housing up high in the sandwhich plate. by removing this plug the three point arms should go all the way down . That should tell you if the arms are free. Do not have the tractor running when you do this.
