During a visit to the Floyd County Museum, I was intrigued with a yellow 550 on display. The owners of the tractor were the children of the man who ordered the tractor new, in addition they had the build card for the tractor. They also provided before and after pictures of the tractor restoration.

The tractor had power steering and PTO, but no other options, no 3 point, no draw-bar, no hydraulics, standard disc wheels, industrial front axle, no evidence of a front mounted pump or a loader. This configuration matched the build card.

Has anyone else seen this tractor?

Any ideas on the intended use for the tractor?

The PTO with no draw-bar or 3 point seems useless?

My best guess it was intended to be used as a loader tractor with an external pump, but there was no evidence in the pictures that a loader was installed.

What do you think?

Maybe it was like my Oliver 600 supposedly it spent its life in a sawmill pulling a planer on the PTO,it does have 3pt but looks hardly used and the tin work is good for its age.
top part of the engine is gone and it had sawdust all over it.
