I have a 770, new to me. I pulled it last weekend for first time (Antique pull). This motor has about 300 hours on rebuild ,so i was told. Motor sounds and runs great, does not smoke easy to start. At pull, half way down track the motor pulled right on down like a puppy putting his tail between his legs. The motor didn't miss pop or anything just died on down. Looking for advice as to what to start doing to correct.

First thing that comes to my mind is the governor might need a little tweaking or shes
running out of gas. There are folks on here that know a lot more about Olivers than I do,
but I can tell you if the governor ain't working properly, she ain't going to pull.We have
also done away with the sediment bowls and went to bigger lines and inline filters on our
pullers.

What gear and what weight class are you pulling?First time pullers are often surprised at how little HP their tractors have.I used to pull a Cockshutt 40 in the 4000 lb class with a
262 AC engine running at least 85 HP to let you know what you're up against.Oliver 310 engines are routinely run in 77 tractors.

Ok let me clear up a few things. Not a first time puller, first time pulling with this tractor. Weight class 5500 pound, tractor in first gear. The motor did not cut off, rpms just all of a sudden went way down.It acted like the governor wasn't operating.
