Please give me your experiences and opinions on the 1750 with 283 gas engine. I'm looking at one with the hydraul shift. I know it's probably thirsty but as long as it's reliable I don't care.
Thanks

We sold a few of them, they are not bad on gas if you keep it tuned up. Don't take much more gas than a 1650. Probably one of the best gas tractors on the market at that time in the 80 H P class.

The one I looked at did not have a fuel pump before the carb. I thought all the bigger gas engines needed a pump?

Were you looking for a mechanical fuel pump? Later ones have an electric fuel pump! Early 283 gas engines in B series 1800 tractors did not have a fuel pump, Did you get a serial number?
