J, did you tell me to set the pump one tooth to the back? It doesn't want to start. Is there anything else I can do to make it start easier without ether or towing..Also I have to back the engine up a bit to get the head down past the cut out. Been meaning to call but have had much time and my emails don't go through.
Thank you, Paul

The correct installation of PSB head is with the tappet on the cam base circle, just before starting to rise install the head with the gear mark aligned with the housing locating mark. When the came is turned and tappet has lifted to the port closure position then the gear marked tooth will have moved one tooth in normal rotation when the front hub mark is aligned with the pointer. Head mark and hub pointer mark NEVER align at the same time on a correctly installed PSB head.

Thank you diesel tech. I believe that is what I did making it one tooth past towards the rear. Still doesn't want to start. Ran it about 5 minutes and doesn't want to restart. Will try pulling it if I can get some help this weekend.

Thanks. I recently put a S88 back together and was told that was the way the pump went on but he (a retired dealer) couldn't remember why. Now I know.
