Oliver Crawler Resto Wiring Confusion

I am collaborating with myself to restore a nice Oliver 0C-3 Dozer. I have painted it orange because I like it that way.
Now -- during resto I took lots of photos, but they evaporated from my camera.
Everything is good except it won't start now. I was running well when I began.
Starter works, I've got positive ground, 6.53 volts battery; the ammeter may be cooked, but the old one was too, when it ran.
Sparking plug wires are correct. Coil is most likely fine -- I've never had one fail.
Can someone look at the photos to see if I have it wired correctly? Does the panel have to be bolted to the support and therefore grounded?
Previous owner installed electronic ignition; I didn't touch it -- all connections are bare metal (and painted orange).
I've tried to make the photos clear. I've also installed some photos of the project for you to like. :D

So the magneto has been replaced with a distributor and it has been converted to electronic ignition. Remember the switch used with the mag just grounded the ignition.

Have you changed the battery polarity or even the voltage? Electronic ignition systems do not like reversed polarity connection and require the correct voltage.

Hello Thank you for responding. Yes, all of that is true -- I just checked the ignition switch (not the foot starting switch) and jumped the two leads. I heard a nice 'click' at the dist. I pushed the starter and something went "BOOM" like a carb backfiring. There was a little gas dripping from the carb, so I'm hoping a spark did it. But now I'm sick of this electronic ignition. I would like to change back to a mag. I have this HG Crawler that runs perfect with the mag. If I swap them, will the rotors point in the same direction (for timing)? Thank you for your time.
