550 Cockshutt

How difficult is gear replacement on hyd. Pump and drive shaft for a Cockshutt built 550 gas? Thanks DTK.

Not to hard just a hard to find very expensive part. Pull the pump and remove nut pop gear off of keyed shaft. Pull the pto loose and slide it back a few inches so you can slide collar of end of shaft. Use caution not to let it fall down into rear end. Hardest part is now to get snap ring off in front of gear and slide gear off end of shaft. Reassemble and shim pump to shaft gear as directed in shop manual. Irv
