Hello
I have a 283 diesel apart out of a 1655 and the machine shop was putting in new wrist pin bushings and when they got them
To size they were into the metal part of the bushing. Does anyone know if anybody makes one that won't do this. These were in a reliance box. Thanks Jon

Ouch! Not good! Also make sure you put seats in the head to correct the valve protrusion. Does your machine shop have a Clevite and or F/M catalog of progressive sizes for wrist pin bushings>

I will find out and he checked the head and said it was good except for the exhaust valves he replaced all of them.

What is he setting the protrusion at? Keep the exhaust as close to the maximum of 41 as you can and the intake valves to the maximum of 29,

i believe the 1 piece bushing for in them rods was used in a case engine too , cant remember model of engine , used them in my 310 rods , are you into metal evenly around or just at certain spots? if the pin holes are out of round they will need replaced , had this with 2 of my rods , i also stumbled across a supplier online selling 1 piece bushing for these engine cant remember the site nor id i save it , but it my pop up for you if you search it , you engine shop should have the books to look them up on a size chart also , can tell you no one at this point makes an oversized O.D. bushing for this rod , would be nice of them to do since most oliver's spun pin bushings & wore the rod its self

Yeah the protrusion is good I called maibach tractor and they had some still not real happy with them. They didn't have any grooves in them for oil just a hole and wouldn't fit the pin before it was put in the rod.
