my 1855 starts great when cold but when the tractor warms up it wont start just cranks and cranks. I poured cold water on the pump and tractor fired up so I'm guessing the pump needs a rebuild how major of a rebuild is this?

That depends on what they find when they pull it apart. I had my 1655 injector pump rebuilt seven years ago after going as long as possible with the cold water bit. That rebuild ran $1466.00. Three years ago my 1850 injector pump was rebuilt as part of a compete engine overhaul, that time it ran $1905.00. Doesn't mean your pump will run that high, but you probably should be ready for it.

If you are really lucky maybe your pump can be saved by going through it. Recently had a JD pump doing the same thing, rotor did have some wear, but by no means shot. Old delivery valve stop was leaking causing his trouble.

mine just cost $600 to rebuild a month ago , off my 1855 . Here's a tip for all you guys how dont use your tractor that much , better put lots of additive in that fuel tank , my pump quit from just sitting around , (not that long either) , had all kinds of crap growing in there costly lesson on my part , fuel quality today is just bad. shop that did my pump recommended a cocktail of FPPF products

ost likely a worn rotor and/or plungers. A new rotor/head don't come cheap.
