88 Row Crop part numbers

I am a Ford guy, but helping a buddy out with his 88 Row Crop. On the Fords, the Standard Ignition P/Ns are readily know. Anything like that for the 88? It has the Delco snap on distributor cap. Looking for P/N for Points, Condenser and rotor if available.

What is the point gap?

Finally, we were diagnosing some charging issues and it looks to have an 8 volt battery. Never heard of such a thing. Is this really a 6v tractor with an 8v battery? Genny works at RPM and is putting about 10 volts back into the battery.

None of the lights work, we have not started to diagnose yet, but perhaps they are burnt out if 8v?

It was common to put in 8v batteries and crank up the regulator, Dad did it to the 77. Wasn't a big improvement. When we went in for dinner or lunch while filling silo the 77 stayed idling. I finally switched it to 12v and then we had something.

The last points I got for a 77 came from NAPA. I'm not aware that they are hard to get. I believe the book says 0.023 for gap. Prepare to pay for points and
condenser. They aren't cheap anymore.

In my mind and 8 volt battery is not that unusual. When I was a kid we ran a 77 with an 8 volt and never did try to adjust the regulator. It beat parking on a
hill. We didn't have much trouble with lights but I don' think we used them much. If yours is cranking out 10 volts that would be pretty tough on 6 volt lights
I would think. Comparing that with 12 volt numbers 10 is a little high on a 8. Around 9 to 9.5 might be better.

Get rid of the 8 volt and fix the real problem. The ground on those tractors was good for about two years after they left the factory. After that, most were left parked on a hill. The original ground cable went to the cowl next to the battery, then the cowl was bolted to the frame. They would start to rust between the cowl and frame and there went the ground. Have some new 00 cables made, and have the ground cable made long enough to ground right to a starter bolt.

I'll second big battery cables on the 6V. Large, clean cables on a 6V tractor make a world of difference. Make sure your ground connection is CLEAN.

Thanks for the replies gents...but no answers to the original question of Standard Brand ignition PNs?

Standard's website does not have a lookup for ag equipment. And I am suspect of NAPA's ability, or at least want to cross check it. Tractor is over an hour from nearest parts store...
