Over-heated 1950?

So what breaks if you get a 4-53 Detroit hot 'cause the water pump went out and you kept running it?

Has water in the oil..all churned-up milky. Water pump pees water out the weep-hole

If your lucky, you just popped a silicone rubber O ring in a coolant passage between the block and head, this would allow coolant into the oil. If your not so lucky, you may have cracked a fire deck in the head from running without coolant in the head.

"Water pump pees water from the weep hole"

Sounds like the original problem - water pump seal is clearly defunct.

Running an overheated engine is likely to end in an expensive repair (or replacement).

Just bite the bullet and take the consequences of going outside the safe engine operating parameters. Next time, install better warnings or heed them.

You don't say how long or how much. You may be lucky with gasket replacement.

If you got it too hot, thats when they like
to scorch sleeves and pistons. If it seems
low on power now, harder to start, or
smokier when running, you probably wiped out
the sleeves and pistons.

Not my tractor...it's my church brother's tractor. Pretty cool old beast...has the Oliver cab and fender fuel tanks. Fairly straight metal. I was hoping an Oliver collector might be interested and relieve me of having to tear into the Detroit!

The 1950 still runs good. I did dump about two gallons of water in it to limp it in the shop. In my mind's eye...I smell a cracked head...however it's been 20 years since I've worked on a Detroit 53/71/92. Going to have to buy a manual
