Cockshutt 50 Deluxe

I bought a Cockshutt 50 today..Everything is original, Rear tires good but weather checked, front tires are excellent. BUT, motor is seized from sitting. I pulled it home 20 miles, & notice right rear wheel seal is leaking, started about half way home.
Any suggestions to loosen the engine? also how to replace the rear wheel seal or will it eventually soften up again?.
I would also like to purchase or download a service manual for this tractor.. Does anyone have a link for one.?
Thanks in advance.

"Any suggestions to loosen the engine?"

Yes. You take the engine apart and carefully get it loosened up that way. Then you spend the money for new parts and do it right, along with the required machine work and (sounds like) a little help from somebody else to get the engine assembled right. I'm sorry it's not what you wanted to hear, but I bet my advice will not be initially followed anyway.

Here are links to download the Buda factory engine manual. May help.

I agree with Gambles 100%. I have rebuilt engines for many years and if one is truly stuck, you can pour anything you want into one and if by chance it does come loose it will never be worth a darn.It will smoke, use oil and have low compression and likely low oil pressure. There is no such thing as an overhaul job in a cam or bottle.

The only service manual I've found is the I&T from Jensales. Links for E-4 parts book. Only difference is the engine.

I wouldn't count on the axle seal healing itself. Preload on the bearings is set by shimming the plate bolted to the outer end of the axle housing, so be careful not to lose or damage any of the shims. Since it would be difficult to be sure a new gasket is going to be exactly the same thickness as the original, it would be best to adjust preload to the specifications found in the service manual.
