Made some hay and few extras

Really wanted to go to Sparky's auction, had to much else going on and more birds hatching from incubator so figured I'd better not. Managed to get all the hay equipment out and used a little bit, just some ditch hay. Sure is fun when you gotta take out half the shed to get one thing. Decided to take the thrower off the baler for now as well. Even made a little transport bar for pulling sprayer behind tractor and got corn sprayed.

Nice pics. Looks like some of my hay equipment. How do you like the mower. I just pick one up. Has a steel pitman arm. Figure it should be wood. What does yours have?
 
Mower is alright sometimes I have issues. When I replaced some sickle sections I shoulda used more aggressive ones. The pitman stick is wood. I should make it out of hickory or oak I think is what tends to be used. Mine right now is a cut down 2x4. It works but breaks easier.
 
We tried replacing a wood pittman (that kept breaking) with a steel one made from a car bumper jack. It lasted a little longer than the wood, but not a lot- because the steel crystallizes, then breaks. We finally got some ole boy out who knew a lot more about mowers than dad and I, and he fixed it properly- no more problems.
