1650 fuel system

I have a '69 1650D. Needs a fuel pump and I'm having a problem finding a new replacement. Wondering if I could replace it with an electric pump instead? Any help is appreciated.

An electric pump has worked well for me. Wired it up to the ignition to run only at startup, then fuel feeds fine without it. Made an aluminum plate to block off crankcase opening for manual pump and mounted it there.

It's a Facet Solid State pump, old style design but seems to be the right pressure and is rugged. Good to have a fuel filter between the tank and pump -- pump will last longer.
