My Oliver super 55 I bought last summer. It runs great except for a few things I am working on to correct. One is the PTO. It runs constantly. It's because a prior owner had put an single hydraulic remote on it and placed it in the way of the PTO lever. I decided today to remove that and see if I could move the lever forward to stop the PTO. So off it came. I plugged the connecting points under the seat where it was connected. and removed all of the hoses and the lever. The handle for the PTO could then come forward enough to stop the PTO. It would not stop the PTO without holding pressure on the handle so there is still some adjustments needed there. However the bigger issue was that when I went to raise the three point they did nothing. Worked fine with this remote on just days before but off there is no action. I checked the fluid level and it's below the tip and looks like I am way down. Also this fluid is cream white. Likely I need to drain the fluid and refill with fresh. How though would removing the remote cause the fluid to be so low. There is no fluid on the ground under the tractor so I am sure I didn't leak it out.
Question, what fluid and how much to refill this? Also where do drain the fluid? Is there concern of the white fluid? If so what should I look for? Have I done something to cause the three point to quite working?
If so what? How do I adjust the PTO to stop when the arm is forward?
Thanks guys for the help. I hope to get to mowing and baling soon. Like to use this tractor for more than the rake this year.
