My goal is to have it done by Rantoul. I hope to have the axle back together painted and back under the tub by next weekend, then all I have left is the engine.

Thanks for posting all the great photos of your build. I agree with everyone, this is definitely a first class build.

Did you have any problems finding bearings and seals for the MFWD? Is there a parts source for these units? I have an 1850 MFWD that needs to be freshened up.

You can still get almost all mfwd parts at ago still, you may want to be sitting down when you pay, but they are available.

I bought all my bearings and seals from a Applied. The bushings from Motion Ind. The bushings I had to do some machining on, but $12.00 versus $225.oo. The sun gear from a guy in K.C.

Looks great! What type of machining is involved in the bushings? Could you post the part # from Motion? Thanks!

What bushings did you replace that were 225 at agco? Did you save the part numbers for the seals, I'm sure I will be doing more of them in the future. Tractor looks great, I hope to bring a Jd or two to rantoul but Portland Indiana is the same weekend and is featuring Oliver so all of our olivers will go there this year. Are you going to use it at rantoul or just show it.?

I will probably just show it this year at Rantoul if I get it done. Will see if Sherry wants it at her Muscle Tractor tent. I found a 566 plow with a true on land hitch that I plan to restore next to plow with it, but that's next year. I have all the numbers of the seals if you want them. Give me a call if you would like. This is my first overhaul on a MFWD axle and I have learned a quite a bit about them thru trial and error. I believe these Clark axles were all the same except for the gear ratio all the way thru the 55 series and maybe the first series of the Whites. My number is 815-823-6949.

Sounds like a good plan, I've done two mfwd snow and have them pretty much figured out but always am willing to try cheaper parts, the worst is the tie rod ends, they are rediculous. There is a guy in St. Louis that says he has the tie rods for a lot less money but he would never come up with any, so I gave up on him after waiting for a month or more, still waiting on a call back from February. Here's a pic of the one I'm working on now. 1855 cockshutt.
