Hi everyone. I have a long 610 which is same as Oliver 1365 and few others from what I've researched. I'm having an issue with the pto. I just finished rebuilding the engine and Installed new clutch. The pto is independa t and runs off rpms or sycro with ground speed. The pto spins in both selections with lever but as soon as there is resistance it stops. Have rototiller hooked up. Pick it up off ground pto goes round and round. Set it in the dirt stops on a dime. My gut tells me that the guy I bought clutch thru got me the wrong one. But not sure. If you grab the pto it's firm and will not spin freely with tractor off. Any insight would be greatly appreciated
 
First off is the PTO clutch lever adjusted so its releasing the clutch out all the way? Needs free travel just like the foot clutch.Also was the clutch pack set up when you got it?
 
That pack is the tractor drive clutch. The PTO clutch sits between that pack and the flywheel. If it's the same as a 1365,it has a separate hand clutch lever for the PTO. It lays down to the left of the shift when it's engaged and tips up toward the dash to disengage.
 
Thanks guys for pointing me in right direction never bought to check that. Adjusted the linkage on the lever works like a charm.
 
Also never operate the tractor with the lever in the up position use it only to engage and disengage the PTO lever.Running it in the up position will result in it destroying the thrust washers and then the crank and block.
 
One more quick question. The 3 pt hitch. When I pull lever to raise the arms they go up about 2/3 of the way and then stop. They don't not bleed off over night even with an implement on them. But if I pick up the arms with my hands and hold them up for a few seconds they will stay and not go back down. Is it something with the draft control ? Or something I'm just over lookin again like the pto clutch adjustment. Thanks for any insight
