550 front end loader will not raise

This winter my good friend & I worked long hours to bring the 550 to a workable level. New bushings were made and grease fittings were added to the loader. All the worn hoses were replaced. The engine now runs like a tiger. The top of the (I'm sorry if I don't know the correct names)transmission was removed and the oil, which had water in it,was completely drained & cleaned. The hydraulic pump was removed and was found not working and we sent it to a nice gentleman in Texas. when we received the pump back, we put everything back together and were able to raise the bucket and had lifting power in the 3 point hitch. After raising the bucket 2 or 3 times, we were elated. But the fourth try found the bucket still on the floor. But we still could raise my 260 lbs on the 3 pt hitch. If we go out and start the tractor we are able to raise the bucket once and unable the raise it again. We were both pretty bummed.we live in New York State 15 miles south of where Ontario and Quebec meet. we get 170 inches of snow in the Adirondack Mts and snow removal, firewood removal and garden prep. So if any of you guys have any ideas or advice, please let me know.thanks.

You got me stumped. What type of hydraulic oil did you put in it? Does the loader go up smooth or does it jerk and jump up or down? Does the three point work when the loader won't? Have you rechecked the hydraulic oil level after operating.

First of all does it have a remote valve? If not put a 1.4 inch hose in the little port inside the cast block held on with the 3 cap screws. stich the hose in a clean container and start the tractor. Does oil come out of the hose! start there.

Mr. Shweibert, No external valve. We disconnected the hose like you described that goes to the spool valve, deadheaded it and placed a pressure gauge on the hose. We got a weak flow of oil but it had no pressure.

You will not get any pressure there. I wanted to make sure the pump was pumping. How about an e-mail address or a phone number so I can talk to you!
