You're lucky if it's not the late one. They're the same as a 1555. Harder to find from my experience looking for one.

Mine was the early with the neutral switch at the back end. Switch bracket was broke off, of course. Later one is the same but shorter at the back end.

The 1650 has a lubrication system with the pump run off of the back of the countershaft. 1550 spur gear transmission do not require lube system, Thus the 1650 has a filter on the LH side of the transmission where the 1550 does not.

Do you mean will they interchange? The answer is NO. You are shifting collars in the 1650 and gears in the 1550.

NO. The 1650 is a helical gear transmission, the 1550 is a spur gear transmission. The casting is the same
