I have a 55 super 55 and a 3241 plow that I just can't get to plow. I have leveled the plow but when I use the plow it tracks to the left side so much that it rubs the tire side wall with the three point arms. I can't get the center of draft to pull center of the tractor. The plow came as 16 bottoms but I have adjusted the plow to be 14 bottoms per the manual. I tried to plow this evening but the plow pulled so hard to the left the chain link bolt broke and I was without another where I was. It sits at the end of the field waiting for me to get another. Bolt was bad to begin with so I don't think the pull was so hard to break it but it sure doesn't track at all. If anyone can give me some advice on this I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks

I am not using the stabilizer bars that is correct. I can not use them and the arms together and pin the plow on. Not enough room. Not sure if they could be changed out or not to longer pins so the bars could be used. I'll have to look to be sure. But not entirely sure they are needed anyways though. I posted as well in tractor talk to get some others responding and they think possibly that the hook points on the plow for the three point arms should have some adjustments that would/could bring the plow more in line. I have an online manual for the plow and am going to verify wheel spacing as well as the angle of the plow to the tractor. Likely that may have some to do with it. This plow is a beast and I can't believe they show it mounted to a super 44. It's awfully heavy to be on that small tractor. The 55 grunts with the plow as it is.

I think the same that I really don't need the stabilizers either. I believe if the plow is set up to follow the tractor the plow will not need the bars. I have bars and in some cases they get used but for this operation doesn't need them if the plow is set up. Years ago I went to a plow day for green machines and they had two JD 80's there with the same plow set up behind. One struggled all day with what he had and the other could have pulled more. The fact was one plow was set up to the tractor and the other wasn't. Operator didn't want to correct his set up like the other had his. He though he had it all set up properly and went home grumbling and shaking his head. I know it's in setup on the plow that I am having trouble with. I'll verify the wheel spacing and check that the plow is both level front to back as well as straight to the tractor. Then if I need to increase or decrease the first furrow to match the second I can adjust that front hitch bar.

Maybe give the Floyd county museum a call and get a manual. They are tough sometimes to get right i knew a guy that plowed for years with a 4020 and oliver plow always had a hard time keeping the front down a guy walked by said change the front he didn't really want to but he finally did and it plowed better. You'll get there with maybe a few more grey hairs .

Grey hairs I have. I got the manual off line for setup of the plow. The only thing I don't have is the parts manual though. Since this plow could be set up to be 16, 14, 12 I took it apart and made it a 14 but now I am not sure that I may need to have moldboards for it in 14. Any one have a part number to look for to verify what I have? I'm going to adjust the attachment point to get it in line and pulling better. Also verify the wheel width and go from there. Who knows if it is inline it may pull this plow in 16 when all is said and done.

You should not need stabilizer bars if plow/wheels are adjusted correctly, IMO. That online manual is interesting but a little confusing. When you increase the "width of cut" you are actually decreasing the cut of the first moldboard if it is free drafting (not up against the arm chains/stops). If the plow drifts left, the right hitch point needs to move forward. If it drifts right, the right hitch point needs to move back. The manual could be interpreted to instruct to do the opposite but it is poorly worded. Good luck!

Wanted to let you know what the issue resolved itself to be. The hitch point where the three point arms attach to the plow had gotten out of angle and was causing the plow to ride way left. I adjusted it to be more in line and it came back behind the plow. I then though the pivot point was wrong so I changed it to another hole put is back straight across the plow and it was back to worse. I went back to the first set up and back it came around to behind the plow. There is still some set up to get it where it ought to be but it's back where it should be. It isn't pulling on the chains nor are the three point stabilizer bars needed. A good cleaning up of the plow will get it to run even smoother. It was shinned up pretty good but could be better. It pulls now behind the plow and with much less effort unlike before from the tractor.
