cockshutt 570 and 40

got to ask for a friend if a cockshutt 40 transmission and rear will bolt up to a 570 .

I don't know for sure, but since you haven't got any responses, I'd sure be surprised if it would work. 40 has a Buda engine, about 40 HP, and 570 uses a Hercules, pushing 70 HP. I can't imagine they'd bolt up.

I sure don't know , but I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if it did bolt up .Seem to me the tub and trany were the same on the 35 , 40 and 50,and they didn't share the same engine. The 35 had a Herc.

Been awhile since I worked on them but I'm about 95% sure you can bolt them up seems to me the bolt pattern is right but something on the 570 rear might need to be changed.I
have a tractor now that I bolted a 540 rear to a 40 tub frame, bolt pattern was the same but needed to grind out the 40 tub frame a little,In order to use the Buda flywheel,clutch etc.You may have to do that on the 570 rear also.
I had to have both front transmission shafts cut and spliced together,pulled it a lot of years like that with a 85HP AC/Buda engine.

thanks a lot for your replies guys my buddy has a modified tractor with a 570 rear and transmission and the 40 is a little narrower . he is planning a swap and was wondering if they would without major modifications . thanks again .
