Ended up replacing the starter, now she starts right off the bat. Plan on redoing the safety switch later on this year. Not really in a great hurry as it's only me and my wife who run it.

Fix the safety switch. A fellow not too far from here got seriously injured because he went to start his loader tractor and did not realize that it was in gear. This gentleman is in his late 70's and owned that tractor since new which would be over 40 years. We hate to admit it but there is always that day when we are in a hurry and cut corners.

I always park my tractors in neutral...
Except for that time when I went to start one and it was in gear! Luckily it didn't fire right off because it would have run me over and put a hole in my shed!
+1 on the neutral safety switch!

But congratulations on getting it running! Electrical problems are always frustrating! Thanks for the update!

Thanks for the reminder. Plan on doing it as soon as I can, hopefully not to much longer. Going to try and put some hay down this week so it will have to wait a bit.
