Differences in wide fronts

Currently thinking about putting a wide front on the 1650. Have two neighbors with 1650's one has wishbone on top of axle one has Ito. Bottom. Which of these is this most desirable and why? What should I expect to pay for either of them? Thanks for the help

The experts can chime in but I haven't had a four digit with the wishbone on top. As for price, they are about $350 for a good one around here without tires. You might expect to pay a little more. The Oliver wide fronts were fairly durable and it is a shame but many Olivers are being parted out so there is more supply than demand.

Both my 1550 Olivers have the wide front that's set back sort of under the tractor I like those real well,as far as strength my 1650 has the solid front wheat land axle but not as convenient to drive in tight places.

I'd go with the one that's under. I had one of the over the tops on my 1600. I've got a Dunham loader on it and the loader frame would hit the big nuts on the front end when it pivoted up very far. I got one off a 2-105 out of the scrap yard for $200 and put that one on it. That one has a welded brace under it.
If you don't plan to use a loader,I don't know that it matters a whole lot, just that if you ever break the center steering arm,be sure to get the right one. The holes are beveled the other way, depending on which front end you have. Tie rod ends go in from the top on one, from the bottom on the other.

I thought the ones with the wishbone on the bottom were aftermarket (Schwartz, etc...) and top was original Oliver.

Ya,both of my 50 series have the underneath brace. The 1600 had the over the top. This 2-105 front on the 1600 and the 2-135 have that welded brace. My good 2-105 has the same brace as the 50 series Olivers.
