So I just got an Oliver 70 from my wife's great aunt, and it's my first oliver and I am in need of a direction of where I can find parts for it? I have looked at steiners but they were spendy. I need a rear 9 bolt rim, a manifold, and a gas tank so far. Any suggestions? Thanks

You will find that ALL parts for the Oliver 70 are expensive. You will also find that you could easily put $3K of parts into your tractor to make it a museum-quality piece and would then have a hard time getting $1K out of it. I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but I'm just telling you the facts. But please don't let me stop you as I think the Oliver 70 is one of my favorites.
While they have a nice catalog and I've ordered from them before, Steiners doesn't really specialize in Oliver tractors and they, for the most part, are just a reselling company.
John S. also wrote a magazine article about overhauling the Oliver 70, published about 7-8 years ago. Perhaps he will post. Start out by calling Korves Oliver. I think Jesales Tractor also has pistons/sleeves. One of the problems is that this engine is a Continental, somewhat harder to get cheaper parts.
I'm sure other posters will give you some clues also.

you can find lots of used parts on e-bay , hastings still makes rings for it , im sure you can find pistons & bearings also , valves for it are hard to come by thow , i myself do have some engine parts & misc. around here from a tractor i stipped for parts, can look & see if i have a manifold ,if your in the market for one , i have a crank , head , rods i think ,some good valves & other misc. , its been so long since ive been in the parts barn i dont even remember. but if you need something let me know id be glad to look in the pile. i no longer own a 70 & have no besire to buy another , nice looking but not my favorite machine to run.

Thank you!!! I am not worried about price. I got the tractor for free, and can put 1500 into it without a problem. But I just need to find the parts and find best place to do so!

Thank you!!! I will definitely be in the market. But I believe I may need pistons and sleeves. I just need to find parts. What would a manifold cost?

i did a brief look at the pile , i do have a tank out of a 1939 , 70 should be good but id test it befor id sell it to anyone, if your looking for tank bands i think there both there too. i have no manifold, thats going to be one of the hardest parts to come by , they all rotted & or got broken over the years & when you find a good one better be ready to buy. where you located? im in central PA. i do have 1 center & 1 complete ( but rim needs repaired ) 9 bolt rim. they came off a massey 44-6 but should be the same as Oliver, they where going to be bolt on duals for my Farmall M , which will probably never happen so i may consider selling them also. if your tractor has good centers id take them out & have them installed into new rims thats the best route there. they used to sell .020 over pistons for this engine , if cyls. are not to bad you could have the cyls. bored & install them pistons ,dont remove liner from block if you take that route , if you can get the old pistons out without damage & your only using it for parades & light work you maybe able to hand hone them & ring the pistons , i did that to one years ago it did use some oil thow. but will save you lots of money , the rings cost me like $150 , 15 years ago , but hastings will make any ring you need even if they dont stock them

Honestly,as cheap and plentiful as those tractors are, just keep your eyes open and buy another one. Take two and make 1. That really is your best and cheapest option. Check Craigslist. They're a dime a dozen.
