A Cockshutt 35 came up for sale locally this week. I don't know much about it other than what it says on TractorData: http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/000/6/5/656-cockshutt-35.html
The guy selling it says when he bought it, it was supposed to be running but he was never able to get it fired up when he got home. I'm not sure when it was last running.
It comes with a loader (no bucket) and tire chains. One of the front tires is flat and possibly ruined.
The price is at $1200 CAD, which is just a hair under $900 USD.
Anyways, I haven't talked to the seller yet, and before I do, I want to find out more about these tractors. The bulk of what I know about Cockshutt come from Wikipedia.
How is parts availability? I know the 35 was a low-production model. Is there a lot of parts overlap with the 30?
Is the Hercules GO198 pretty reliable? A beast to maintain?
Is the tractor reasonably well built for loader work? (other than the fact I don't think it has power steering...)
I'd be tempted to buy it and repair it at that price, but I'd like to get a sense of what I could be up against!
